There are many variables in the colors of each piece and so no two pieces are exactly alike. Colors show up differently on individual computers. At the factory the casting slip varies (slightly), depending on when made, and how easily mixed (temperature). There are also variations in stains from suppliers. Likewise, every quart of paint that is made up can vary--depending again on how it is mixed and the stains received. The temperature in the bisque fire can affect the color of the sprays applied to the piece in green ware. The thickness of the glaze can effect the color - the sprayer applies a bit more paint, the bisque is a bit harder for the bisque decorator - and so on....
The truth is, no two pieces are alike, and cannot be.
Photos have been graciously provided by The Hagen Renaker On-Line Museum. They show the pieces in colors produced by HR and the various ribbon colors. This gives you a very good idea of what your piece will look like. No two are alike - and who would want them to be. It is impossible to "request" a lighter or darker version - because once it is started, we won't know exactly what it looks like until it is finished.
Each Model can be ordered in any of the standard HR colors - which are:
Buckskin, Palomino, Bay, Charcoal, Grey, Black, Light Beige, Chestnut, Dark Chestnut and Dapple.
So order your favorite piece in your favorite color.
You can be sure it will be a close version of the pictures shown.
But in all events it will be an authentic, individually made and hand decorated Hagen Renaker.
A treasure that will last a lifetime and beyond.
