I remember as a little girl taking trips to grandma's house, Daddy always stopped at the little gift shops in the Ozark Mountains and bought me a Hagen Renaker horse. I was so excited to add it to my collection - I just loved them. Since starting Little-Shoppe, I have heard many heart warming stories from collectors about their memories of Hagen Renaker and the wonderful pieces that have survived all these years - still treasured in their collections. Some referring to them, as I do, as our "little childhood friends" - even some 50 years later. I have always thought that collecting is almost magical - to look for something special and then find it - what excitement it conjures up. My hope for Kids Korner is that it will create those same special memories and the magic of collecting for our kids today. Hagen Renaker still today produces high quality "little collectible treasures" that are unique, made in America - and just downright darling. 
Hagen Renaker Miniatures and Specialties Just for Kids - From 1 to 17 Membership is free and is for kids just starting to collect Hagen Renaker miniatures - but once you join - you can stay forever. We have started our birthday year at 1990 - that means that anyone 17 and under can join. Now I know that a 17 year old doesn't consider themself a "kid" - but they are and may still enjoy collecting. Each member will receive a Certificate of Membership, discounts on monthly selected miniatures, can play games for prizes and only members can purchase the kool Krazy Kritters. This is where all our members information is stored - and can be updated and changed as necessary. All information that you provide to Kids Korner is private and protected by many safeguards - and will never ever be shared or given out. All orders and will be shipped to the address you have registered in your profile. Please upload a nice picture - we may have a picture directory as membership grows - and pictures will be used on the winner's page for the games and contests and prize drawings. Krazy Kritters are selected Hagen Renaker miniatures that have been brightly colored. Each month there will be a new Kritter in a fun color just for members of Kids Korner. You have to be a member to order them, and you can only get them on the Krazy Kritter page. On the first day of each month a new "Krazy Kritter of the Month" will be added. These little Kritters will be like regular Hagen Renaker miniatures, sometimes we'll discontinue them, change colors, or maybe have a "special run". Krazy Kritters are limited to one of each month's Kritter per member - we want to keep these little sweeties just for members. On the first day of each month, a new set of 5 miniatures will be discounted for members of Kids Korner. These will be randomly chosen from the different categories of HR minis and specialty pieces. The Wish List is a really unique part of Kids Korner. When members are logged in, a wish list button appears beside all the miniatures at Little-Shoppe. They can just click on the wish list button and that miniature is added to their Wish List. And this list ties directly into the Gift Center - each member is listed showing their picture and first name and state. If you click on their picture it will take you to their wish list. And if you would like to purchase a gift for them, you can see just what they want. I have created many KK Games that are fun for kids, and very informative. All the games are simple and hopefully interesting enough that they remember some of the facts. Each month we have a Game Prize (one or more of the regular miniatures from Hagen Renaker). When the kids play a game, a point is added to their game total. At the end of the month, the computer randomly picks a member from those who have played the most games, and that member wins the game prize for the month. We also have Kids Korner Hangman, the word list is all Hagen Renaker. They can play Hangman as often and as much as they like. I have searched out on the web for nice fun site for kids to play. Each of the sites listed is either just fun and games or educational, plus a really neat coloring site that you can print out the pages or color them online. These sites are not connected to Little-Shoppe or Kids Korner in any way and I have no responsibility for their content. They are just popular web based children's sites. |
